Hello again,
We’ve gone in a couple of days from warm weather to attempts to
snow. This time of year, the weather is always capricious in
Western Europe.
We have only had time to write one new exercise this week. It’s about dealing
with questions at the end of a presentation and you will find it here:
http://www.effective-public-speaking.com/dealwithquestions1/menu.php
I’ve found a good source of very useful English words and phrases.
It’s on offer for seven dollars and is well worth that.
Visit http://www.better-english.com/vocabbooks.html
Also, my good friend Gary Vurnum has reduced the price of his
interesting book on the Millionaire Mindset to seven dollars and
it’s proving to be a huge bestseller at that price. You can see
more about it at
http://www.better-english.com/millionaire.html
Hope to have a few more exercises for you next week.

Hello again,
We seem to have had a record number of new subscribers in the last
week. If you are new, you are most welcome.
I’m now safely back in my house in France after an expensive
journey from England. I say ‘expensive’ because I got caught in a
French police speed camera trap and had to pay a 45 euro fine. In
England, I never drive too fast because there are speed cameras
everywhere. Now, I’ll be driving more slowly in France too
We have only produced two exercises in the last week.
We wrote a vocabulary lesson on ‘free time’ that you can find here:
http://www.expandyourvocabulary.com/freetime/menu.php
We also have written an exercise about follow up questions after a
presentation and you can find that here:
http://www.effective-public-speaking.com/clarification2/menu.php
One area we are looking at is selling more ebooks. Last week I told
you about my friend Martin Avis and his new ebook on writing
articles for the Internet. A surprisingly large number of you
bought this book and not a single one asked for a refund – a sign
of the quality and value of Martin’s book. I think it is great
value for only $7.
You can find out more here:
http://www.better-english.com/articlewriting.html
Of course, we have our own ‘best-seller’ listening course and new
subscribers can download a free lesson from this by going to the
website and filling in the form.

I expect to send you the next email in about a week.
Until then, take care.

Sometimes we do not hear or understand what the speaker has said
and we need to ask for clarification or repetition. In today’s
lesson, we look at some ways to do that. Here is the link:

Have a great day,

I was up early today to prepare your exercise so that I can now go
spend the day with my youngest daughter. She’s 20 today. Makes me
feel old!
Today’s exercise looks at the verb ‘to blow’. Here’s the link:
